Director is a typeface revival developed by May Jolivet and Justine Herbel at ESAB for the Reviving Ange Degheest project, based on a design originally made for the Hermes-Paillard typewriter company in 1958. Its marked stroke contrast, soft serifs, and mono-like construction reference the mechanical prestige of the Hermes 3000 era.
